Faq: Relic Watches For Women

A consumer asks

HOW DOES ANCIENT GREEK ART HELP US UNDERSTAND THE GREEKS?

How does it help us understand their technology, political roles, religion, etc?

I need the info FOR a school project.

WRISTWATCHDESIGNS.COM ANSWERS:

Well, ancient Greek art often serves as relics for studying the past. Popular forms of their art included Vase painting, sculpture, friezes, architecture and temples.

In vase painting we can trace the development of artistic styles and tools used to create the images. What started off as very basic designs that often looked like nazi symbols (no jokes) in one color, changed over time to intricate images on white background, red figures, black figures, etc. Some of these artists, like the Ezekias painter were the celebrated artists at the time. These painters usually broke new ground, especially in realistically portraying scenes. This is the same for sculpture. As artists developed their skills, they experimented with different positions of the body, and ultimately became more adept at recreating reality.

Also, the images on vase paintings illustrated waht was important at the time. Often these images portrayed gods, mythological heroes like Achilles and Ajax, or Centaurs and Dionysus running around behaving badly. With sculpture, images of politicians became important. Often these sculptures were not real to life, but emphasized a politicians good looking features, making him seem more powerful, better looking, etc.

Socially, we see the development of the female image. Very early sculptures depicted fully clothed women; soon women were depicted with drapes hanging over them, and then the drapes became thin and veiled, then they were half nude. This would reflect the changing taboo of the naked figure. Much art from ancient Greece depicts lewd scenes, and scenes of young boys naked while an older man watches on. This aspect of ancient Greece was often not mentioned in literature, but we have become privy to it through their art.

Hope that helps

The series follows Rookie team Satomi as they first enter into the big league IG-1. IG-1 races consist of two teams of three. They compete on a 60-mile track at speeds upwards of 350 mph. 1st place receives 15 points, 2nd receives 7 points, 3rd gets 5 points, ect. The objective is to complete three laps on the course without getting taken out. Each lap consists of a different stage. The 1st lap is just a setup lap to get a feel for the course and planning out strategy, but the 2nd lap is the battle round. In this lap you out right try to destroy your opponent on the course while race at 300 plus mile per hour. You want to do what ever it takes to eliminate your opponent because if one of them doesn't finish, it mean more point for your team. The third lap is the speed round were you convert into speed mode to try to get to the finish first.

I'm not really one for racing, but I thought this series was original and really an exciting watch.
